OPAP Launches 15th Annual Conference: “Breaking Bite” Marks a Decade of Integrating Perspectives in TMD and Orofacial Pain
The Orofacial Pain Association of the Philippines (OPAP) is set to hold its 15th Annual Conference, aptly themed “Breaking Bite: A Decade of Integrating Perspectives in Temporomandibular Disorders and Orofacial Pain.” The conference will bring together dentists, specialists, educators, researchers, and healthcare professionals committed to advancing the understanding, diagnosis, and management of temporomandibular disorders (TMD) and orofacial pain conditions.
Celebrating ten years of interdisciplinary collaboration and knowledge integration, this year's conference highlights the evolution of contemporary approaches to TMD and orofacial pain. The theme reflects the growing recognition that successful patient management requires the convergence of multiple perspectives, including dentistry, medicine, psychology, physical therapy, sleep medicine, pain science, and behavioral health.
The scientific program will run from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, featuring lectures and discussions designed to provide participants with the latest evidence-based concepts, diagnostic strategies, and clinical management approaches in the field of orofacial pain. Attendees can expect valuable insights from experts who continue to shape the specialty through clinical practice, education, and research.
Following the scientific session, OPAP will conduct its Induction Ceremony from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, formally welcoming new members and recognizing individuals who have contributed to the organization's growth and mission. The ceremony serves as a reaffirmation of OPAP's commitment to fostering professional excellence and strengthening the community of clinicians dedicated to pain management.
The evening will culminate in a Fellowship Night beginning at 7:00 PM, providing an opportunity for members, alumni, colleagues, and guests to network, reconnect, and celebrate the milestones achieved by the organization over the past decade. The social gathering underscores the spirit of collaboration that has been central to OPAP's development as the leading professional organization for orofacial pain in the Philippines.

Advancing Orofacial Pain Education in the Philippines
Over the years, OPAP has played a pivotal role in advancing awareness and professional education on temporomandibular disorders and orofacial pain throughout the country. Through annual conferences, continuing education programs, and collaborative initiatives, the organization has helped bridge the gap between emerging pain science and everyday clinical practice.
As TMD and orofacial pain continue to present significant diagnostic and therapeutic challenges, the OPAP 15th Annual Conference aims to equip clinicians with updated knowledge and practical skills while fostering meaningful professional connections. The event promises to be both a celebration of the organization's achievements and a forward-looking discussion on the future of pain management in Philippine dentistry and healthcare.
“Breaking Bite” stands as a testament to a decade of shared learning, interdisciplinary collaboration, and unwavering commitment to improving the lives of patients affected by temporomandibular disorders and orofacial pain.
