It seems like it was only yesterday when orthodontic treatment was only for a privileged few in the Philippines. This specialty which we love has grown exponentially over the past few decades. On August 1 and 2, 2016, we will celebrate the continued growth of Philippine Orthodontics by giving you a special 10th Biennial Orthodontic Congress with the theme:
"Mind the Gap: Simple Biomechanics for Difficult Orthodontic Cases"
As practitioners, we have all been through situations where a clinical case did not turn out as originally planned to our full satisfaction.
On some occasions, we encounter frustrating problems which sometimes lead to lengthy treatment time. We are in constant search for biomechanical technicques to help us come up with results that will be beneficial for our patients.
We are pleased to inform you that we have invited two (2) of the world's most sought-after speakers in their fields of expertise, Dr. Joe Varghese of India and Dr. Young Guk Park of Seoul Korea. Both of our speakers will share their knowledge and technical wizardry through presentation of unique clinical cases using methods that we can apply in our practices.

Dr. Joseph Varghese completed his B.D.S. from the Govt. Dental College, Trivandrum, in 1984. He earned an M.S. degree
and Clinical Certificate in Orthodontics from the Ohio State University, USA in 1988. He is a Diplomate of the Indian
Board of Orthodontics and a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. He also has MOrth. RCS and FDS RCS
(Edinburgh). He was Chairman of the Indian Board of Orthodontics in 2005.

Prof. Young Guk Park is a world-renowned researcher, author and speaker in clinical orthodontics and associated basic
science. He is a professor and chair in the orthodontic department of Kyung Hee University in Seoul, where he served
as the Dean of Dental School. He is immediate Past President of the Korean Association of Orthodontists and its
foundation.

PPDSI National Congress on Oral Health for Filipino Children
The PPDSI Philippine Pediatric Dental Society, Inc. will once again hold the National Congress on Oral Health for Filipino Children on March 3 and 4, 2016. The theme of this year’s event is “Para Sa Batang Pinoy: Ikalawang Hirit” — a continuation of the successful congress happened last year at the Solaire Resorts and Casino. This 2016 congress will be held at the Henry Sy, Sr. Auditorium, St. Luke’s Medical Center, Global City, Taguig City. It will feature lectures that will focus on the multidisciplinary approach in treating dental paediatric patients. This seminar is limited to 200 attendees only. January 2016 Dentist Licensure Examination results released in two (2) working days working days

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announces that 446 out of 900 passed the December 2015 Dentist Licensure Examination (Written Phase) and 425 out of 449 passed the Dentist Licensure Examination (Practical Phase) given by the Board of Dentistry in Manila this January 2016.
The members of the Board of Dentistry who gave the licensure examination are Dr. Rannier F. Reyes, Officer-In-Charge; Dr. Gloria M. Bumanlag, Dr. Steve Mark G. Gan and Dr. Melinda L. Garcia, Members.
The results were released in two (2) working days after the last day of examination.
Registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will be on January 18 – 20, 2016. Those who will register are required to bring the following: duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal, current Community Tax Certificate (cedula), 1 piece passport size picture (colored with white background and complete name tag), 2 sets of metered documentary stamps and 1 short brown envelope with name and profession and to pay the Initial Registration Fee of P600 and Annual Registration Fee of P450 for 2016-2019. Successful examinees should personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals.
The date and venue for the oathtaking ceremony of the new successful examinees in the said examination WILL BE ANNOUNCED LATER.
